Day 1

Carosello delle Malghe – San Martino Snowpark – dinner at Malga Fratazza
After an early wake up, we are ready for a fun day on the Tognola Ski Area.  To warm up, a descent on the “Tognola Uno” run, one of the twelve most beautiful runs in the Dolomites and certainly the most exciting track of Carosello delle Malghe (dairy-hut carousel).
We go back again to Alpe Tognola, where we can enjoy a breakfast with local products on the panoramic terrace of Rifugio Tognola, admiring the snow-covered peaks of the Pale di San Martino.  Swift change of snowboard: today, in the village set up at the cableway's uphill station, it is possible to run tests on materials and we do not miss the opportunity to try out the latest novelties of the season. To become familiar with our new equipment we descend along an easy blue run, the Rododendro one, to then go up again on the three-seat Scandola chairlift. The time has finally come to test the San Martino Snowpark, an official Burton&Doors park, hosting one of the 5 Burton Progression Parks in Europe, with Element line (jump, 3 m rail, 3+3 m kinked box, timber elements), Easy and Medium Jump Line, Jib Area, Boarder Cross.

After a fantastic day on the slopes, at 5.30 pm an aperitif is ready for us on the snowcat! We meet at the Après Ski Base Camp (here part of the furniture was made using snowboards, in perfect Snowboard Style…), where the snowcat is already waiting for us. The sun begins to set and the snowcat takes us through the woods of Alpe Tognola. After leaving the wood we glimpse from afar the light of torches: on the track, a counter-bar dug into the snow is expecting us! Here we taste the best grappas from Trentino, with fruit, herbal flavours… we are spoilt for choice. Before returning we indulge in a toast with a chalice of Trento DOC, and the Alpenglow spectacle starts before our very eyes. The atmosphere is truly magical. We end the day with dinner at Malga Fratazza. We meet again at the departure point of the Tognola lift facilities, where another snowcat takes us in a few minutes to the dairy hut. After a special dinner based on local products, a return to valley by toboggan is awaiting us… let’s be kids again! It’s time to go back to the Hotel for a well deserved rest.  We must recharge our batteries for tomorrow!

Day 2
Passo Rolle Ski Area  – Rolle Railz Park – Night skiing in the Colverde Snowpark
Today we decided to go up to Passo Rolle.  The skibus stops just a few steps away from the hotel: the trip is free thanks to the guest card they gave us at the hotel.  In 15 minutes we are already at the departure point of the Passo Rolle lift facilities. It was really worth it, the scenery here is unique!   We are all charged up and decide to try the thrill of a fairly challenging run!  We go up on the Paradiso chairlift and, once at the top, we stop for a few moments to enjoy a truly breathtaking view before we dive into the piste of the same name, a wonderful "black" one with repeated changes in slope. The snow is nice and compact, so we go up again to also try the Fiamme Gialle run before moving to the opposite side of the ski area.  Here we go back up with the Castellazzo chairlift, admiring  the unique Cimon della Pala profile from a different angle. We descend along the Castellazzo run until we reach the Rolle Railz Park and tackle the 800m piste with kinks, straight-down, arched c-box, rainbow, kicker, pyramid-box, funbox, riddlebox,  tabledance and wall ride.  There are also 5 jumps of which two smaller ones for the less experienced.    In the afternoon we return to town, to relax and recharge ourselves in the hotel’s spa before we put on the snowboard again to experience the excitement of yet another snowpark.  At 7.30 pm the Colverde facilities open and we want to indulge in the thrill of night skiing!  We go up with the fast gondola cableway to 2000 m altitude and decide to descend straight away to the new Colverde Snowpark, spreading over a total 800 to 900 metres in length.  The track is lit up by large light globes that produce a particularly charming effect! The evening is windy, but the park is nestled in deep woods and this feature, in full American style, allows to indulge in wild stunts even when the weather is not at its best. The Colverde Snowpark is suitable for anyone looking for the perfect jib line but beginners will also be able to test their skills thanks to quite accessible degrees of difficulty. The park offers kink box, box, rainbow, two 6 m long tubes and one 8 m long tube.
After a number of descents, hunger begins to bite!  Luckily, the gondola cableway takes us straight to Rifugio Colverde where, in between skiing, we can enjoy a tasty roll or a delicious dinner with the best specialities from Trentino.  Of course we choose the second option!  But we still have time for one last descent, since  fun is guaranteed on the tracks until 11.30 pm!

Day 3
Ski Area – Kart On Ice
On the last day we go up again to Alpe Tognola with the gondola cableway, moving then to Cima Tognola at 2383 m altitude where, on the beautiful Cristiania run, we reach the Ces ski area, part of Carosello delle Malghe (dairy hut carousel). A stop at the new Malga Val Cigolera is definitely a must, after which we leave to reach Punta Ces.   What a surprise!  Here, waiting for us, is a splendid panoramic terrace where we can admire the Pale di San Martino, the Lagorai chain and the town of San Martino di Castrozza.  At lunchtime we go down and stop at Malga Ces, where we order a huge platter of cold cuts and local cheese. Once back to valley, we discover that in town there is also a go-kart ice rink…  we cannot resist and challenge our friends!  The weekend finishes with an exciting neck to neck and whoever looses will organize the next group outing on the snow.  One thing is for certain: we shall be back soon at the foot of the Pale di San Martino!
