Lakes and torrents

One of the greatest natural riches of the Primiero valley is undoubtedly the abundance of water in its many forms: rivers, streams, lakes of the valley and mountain lakes are protagonists in the territory. There are four main streams: the Cismon, the Canali stream, the Noana and the Vanoi stream. The magic of water in Primiero is also best expressed in the mountain lakes that like shiny mirrors give the landscape further charm. From the height of the plateau of the Pale di San Martino where it is possible to admire the cobalt blue of the mysterious Manna lake, you pass by the Passo Rolle towards the beautiful Colbricón Lakes which reflect the prophyritic rocks and the same named Lagorai peaks . The Vanoi also has its gems: in the Val del Lozen a visit to Lake Calaita is essential and for fans of trekking a walk at altitude until reaching Lake Pisorno. In Val Canali finally, not far from the villages of Primiero, placidly awaiting visitors is the Welsperg lake, adjacent to the historic villa of the San Martino Paneveggio Pale Natural Park.A hundred kilometres of streams and a hundred and thirty hectares of lakes forming a magical paradise and a must for nature lovers but also for the most discerning fishing fanatics who in these waters can aspire to brown trout, marble trout, rainbow trout, grayling, chub, minnows and bullheads.
